A Webinar Entitled The Role of Natural Language Processing in Social Media

Under the auspices of the Dean of the College and in cooperation with Helwan University / Egypt, a webinar entitled “The role of natural language processing in social media” was held by Dr. Suha Ahmed Ihsan of Helwan University. The researcher presented a detailed definition of the steps of natural language processing and its uses in social media platforms. She also highlighted the use of computing to accomplish many tasks automatically such as semantic research, machine translation, sentiment analysis, document classification, trending news discovery, speech recognition, writing plays, dialect recognition and other applications. The researcher further discussed the role of artificial intelligence in Arabic language processing and the difficulties accompanying it such as the multiplicity of Arabic dialects, orthographic problems, morphological richness, etc. The webinar was managed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ashwan Anwar Abdul-Mun’im), an academic staff of Computer Science Department. It was attended by many tutors and specialized researchers from our university as well as other universities.
