The Master’s thesis titled “Automatic Approach to Design Collective Decision Making in Swarm Robotics” was discussed at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala. The defense took place on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 9:30 in the morning in Al-Khwarizmi Hall, with the presence of the Dean, Dr. Muwaffaq Kazim Al-Hasnawi, the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohsen Hassan Hussein, the Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. Mohannad Kamel Abdul-Hameed, along with several researchers and faculty members.

The study focused on strategies that make collective decision-making effective in environments where the distribution of available options is centralized within a certain area.

The researcher aimed to determine the effectiveness of collective decision-making for binary perceptual discrimination tasks controlled by an artificial neural network.

The defense committee comprised Professor Dr. Asia Mahdi Nasser from the University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as the chair, Assistant Professor Dr. Alham Mohammed Thabet Abdul Amir from the University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as a member, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Taaima Abdul Kadhim from the University of Al-Qadisiyah, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as a member, as well as Assistant Professor Dr. Mohannad Haider Mohammed Baqir from the University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as a member and supervisor, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Reda Hassoun from the University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as a member and supervisor.

The defense concluded successfully, and the researcher, Rasel Ibrahim Hussein, was awarded the Master’s degree.
