During a meeting with the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjártó and participating in the 13th edition of the International Atomic Energy Forum (Atomexpo), in the Russian city of Sochi, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed that the two sides welcomed the coordination between the two countries in the scientific and academic fields and agreed to renew the bilateral cooperation agreement between them.
Dr. Al-Aboudi expressed the importance of modernizing scientific and cultural exchange paths and enabling the universities of the two countries to pursue academic programs of common interest.
His Excellency stressed the need to increase the number of academic seats granted to Iraqi students in the specializations of nuclear energy engineering and nuclear and radiation physics.
Dr. Al-Aboudi called on the Hungarian students to study in Iraqi universities within the Study in Iraq program.
His Excellency reviewed the strategy adopted by Iraq to develop the zero-sum nuclear reactor and clean energy plants and establish a specialized environment for educational research in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
