Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Abboudi, met with a group of international students studying at Iraqi universities as part of the “Study in Iraq” program.
In his speech, the Minister welcomed Arab and foreign students from various countries around the world, emphasizing that higher education represents an important cultural bridge between nations. He noted that the first edition of the “Study in Iraq” program for the academic year 2024/2023 resulted in the acceptance of fifteen hundred students, while the second edition for the academic year 2025/2024 has so far registered over two thousand students from seventy countries worldwide.
The Minister showcased aspects of the capabilities of Iraqi universities and their achievements in global rankings, highlighting their prestigious academic reputation and the competent faculty and researchers they possess. He also emphasized the ministry’s and universities’ commitment to providing a quality educational environment for all students to enable them to achieve their aspirations.
The international students expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for providing diverse educational opportunities to enroll in Iraqi universities. They also commended the academic standards maintained by these universities and their specialized colleges at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
