Professor Dr. Basim Nayil Khalil Al-Saadi, the President of the University of Karbala, represented the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the 18th Scientific and Cultural Week organized by Al-Abbas Holy Shrine University.

Al-Saadi stated, “The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research emphasizes the development of research and scientific outputs, enhancing their quality in universities, increasing their global impact, and providing appropriate financial support for the research environment. It directed the honoring of distinguished researchers in the field of reputable international publications.”

He added, “Governmental universities are open to private education and have sought to bridge scientific communication with private universities because they believe that their outputs aim to serve the community.”

The organization of the 8th edition of the cultural and scientific week, held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Abboudi, commemorated twenty years since the establishment of Al-Abbas Holy Shrine University in Iraq.

The conference was attended by the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Basim Nayil Khalil Al-Saadi, representing the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as official and academic figures, religious leaders from inside and outside Iraq, in addition to interested individuals and students.

At the end of the first day’s events of the festival, the President of the University of Karbala was honored with the Shield of Excellence in appreciation of his efforts in serving the scientific march.
