Minister of Education launches Iraq-UK Academic Bridge Initiative at Iraq-UK Universities Forum

This came in his speech during the Iraq-UK Higher Education Dialogue held in London, where he explained that the possibilities of cooperation between the universities of the two countries are wide and varied in terms of joint research initiatives and academic exchange, as well as the development of educational programs, especially those related to medical and engineering fields, capacity building and keeping abreast of global academic trends.

He called for the formulation of a framework for cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and sustainability, suggesting the formation of a bilateral working group that includes representatives from the academic and governmental sectors in both countries to facilitate knowledge exchange and ensure the smooth implementation of joint initiatives.

He concluded his speech by calling for this understanding to be a starting point for positive partnerships between universities that pave the way for excellence and global academic cooperation.

A number of heads of Iraqi public and private universities and their British counterparts, as well as a number of advisors, experts, directors general and cultural advisors attended the forum and presented their perceptions of the context of the understanding in light of the proposed initiative launched by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Abboudi
