The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Karbala University, Dr Muwaffaq Kazim Al-Hasnawi, attended a scientific seminar on capacity building in the preservation of traditional knowledge in the field of brick building, organised by the Faculty of Engineering at Karbala University in cooperation with the Italian universities of Al-Nahrain and Cagliari and ICOMOS, the international scientific organisation concerned with the preservation, protection and sustainability of cultural heritage places in the world. The seminar aimed at raising the level of knowledge about brick architecture and promoting interest in the scientific preservation and conservation of archaeological buildings. It discussed several themes related to the local practice of brick building.
