The President of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Naim Al-Abboudi signed the Technical Cooperation Agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the years 2024-2029. The agreement, signed by the President of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission Dr Naim Al-Abboudi and Mr Hua Liu, Head of the Technical Cooperation Department of the IAEA, includes many aspects related to the use of atoms for peace in the fields of nuclear medicine, agriculture, food security, energy production, radioactive waste management, nuclear facility liquidation and other scientifically relevant aspects of the peaceful and safe uses of atoms.
