The Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Muwaffaq Kazim Al-Hasnawi, attended the first scientific conference for postgraduate students’ research under the theme “The effectiveness of scientific research in achieving sustainable development goals among postgraduate students”, organised by the College of Education for Humanities at Karbala University
. The conference was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, Mr. President of Karbala Provincial Council, Dr. Qasim Al-Yasari
, Mr. Chairman of the Higher Education Committee in Karbala Provincial Council, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kanani, and the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Hadi Al-Saidi, Honorable.
The students’ researches were discussed in the following themes: Applied Geography, Educational and Psychological Sciences, as well as English language, the outputs of which address real-life community issues and serve the province.
The conference aimed to enhance the role of scientific research in achieving sustainable development goals by highlighting the contributions of postgraduate students in the humanities, as well as analysing developmental issues related to the disciplines of Arabic language, geography, history, English language, educational and psychological sciences, highlighting the importance of scientific research in finding sustainable solutions, developing research methods in humanities to enhance their ability to address environmental, social and economic challenges in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, and enabling postgraduate students to develop their research skills in line with developmental priorities
