Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University of Karbala, honored Assistant Lecturer Ruaa Abdul-Jawad Lafta, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, in recognition of her distinguished role in the success of the Quran Recitation Competition organized by the university’s Women’s Affairs Division.

This recognition comes in appreciation of her active contribution to organizing the month-long competition, which was held under the guidance of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with broad participation from faculty and staff members across the university.

The University President commended the efforts of the Women’s Affairs Unit and Division in promoting Quranic culture among university staff, emphasizing the importance of supporting such initiatives that foster religious and spiritual values.

For her part, Assistant Lecturer Ruaa Abdul-Jawad Lafta expressed her gratitude to the university leadership for this recognition, noting that such support serves as a motivation to continue advancing initiatives aimed at empowering women in academia and enhancing their participation in various academic and cultural activities.

It is worth noting that the competition concluded with an official ceremony at the university presidency, during which winners among faculty and staff, as well as the judging panel, were also honored.
