College of Computer Science and Information Technology Holds a Seminar Entitled “Women and Art: Voice and Identity”

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology organized an in-person seminar entitled “Women and Art: Voice and Identity” on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall.

The seminar aimed to shed light on the creative and intellectual role of women in the field of art, and how art serves as a powerful medium for expressing women’s identity and voice in society, as well as a means of conveying human, cultural, and aesthetic values.

The event included two lectures. The first was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ruaa Abduljawad Lafta, who discussed women’s presence in various artistic fields and their role in highlighting social issues. The second lecture was presented by Senior Director Shaimaa Hadi Al-Hasnawi, who explored the impact of feminist art in strengthening cultural identity and empowering women in the public sphere.

At the conclusion of the seminar, a fruitful discussion took place between the attendees and the speakers, emphasizing the importance of supporting women’s participation in artistic and creative activities as a vital human and cultural dimension that contributes to the development and progress of society.
