The Human Rights Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology organized an awareness seminar titled “The Role of Women in Society Following the Path of Al-Nurayn”, attended by a group of students and faculty members. This event is part of a series of cultural activities aimed at raising community awareness about women’s issues and rights.

The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Dua Abbas Rasheed, who highlighted the esteemed position of women in Islamic society, drawing inspiration from the lives of Lady Fatima Al-Zahraa and Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon them). These figures were presented as exemplary models for promoting values of justice, equality, and mutual respect within the family and society.

The seminar addressed social and cultural dimensions of women’s empowerment and emphasized the importance of supporting their participation in public and academic life. It referenced inspiring examples from Islamic history that illustrate women’s leadership and influential roles.

At the conclusion of the seminar, a fruitful discussion took place between the attendees and the speaker. Several questions and ideas were shared, enriching the conversation and affirming the importance of continuing such events that promote a culture of human rights and social justice within the academic community.
