The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala held the defense of a master’s thesis titled “Distracted Driver Detection Using Machine Learning Techniques.” The thesis was submitted by the master’s student Hussein Fadhil Mohsen.
The defense took place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, 18/12/2025, in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the Deanship of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Mowaffaq Kazem Al-Hasnawi, along with a number of researchers and faculty members.
The examination committee consisted of:

- Assistant Professor Dr. Sura Zaki Naji, University of Babylon, College of Information Technology — Member
- Assistant Professor Dr. Iyad Hamid Mousa, University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology — Member
- Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Reza Hassoun, University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology — Member and Supervisor
The defense concluded successfully, and the researcher Hussein Fadhil Mohsen was awarded the Master’s degree.
