The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Karbala University organized a training workshop entitled (Environmental Impact Assessment of Landfills in Karbala City). Khalida Kadouri Ali

The workshop aims to introduce the locations of landfills in the city of Karbala and find out whether they are within the planning limits and Iraqi and international environmental standards.

The workshop included a number of themes, the most important of which are the definition of the importance of landfills from the environmental point of view and the definition of the Iraqi Ministry of Environment’s criteria for the establishment of sanitary landfills, as well as the definition of the locations of landfills and whether they are within the standards of the Iraqi Ministry of Environment.

Participants called for the need to organize such workshops that would introduce how to properly dispose of waste.
