During the Arab Universities Conference.

During the Arab Universities Conference, the Minister of Higher Education calls for the establishment and declaration of the Arab Higher Education Zone under the umbrella of the Association of Arab Universities.

This was highlighted in his speech during the official opening of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, amidst a distinguished Arab academic presence. He emphasized that the conference represents a valuable opportunity for exchanging ideas and opinions on ways to develop higher education in the Arab region. He called for the establishment and declaration of the Arab Higher Education Zone, stating that this proposed initiative includes a significant roadmap to address challenges and expand collaborative efforts, similar to the experience of creating the European Higher Education Area. He also emphasized the importance of supporting and strengthening reform climates in institutions and providing solutions to many of the difficulties facing Arab universities and educational institutions.

The real and continuous integration among Arab universities, he added, would reduce the gap between Arab educational spaces and open the door to productive interaction with established educational environments in many global capitals.

As part of the opening activities of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, the Minister of Higher Education honored the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, and the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Dr. Abdelmajid Ben Amara, along with the President of the University of Sousse, Dr. Lotfi Belkacem, and the President of Al-Mansour University College, Dr. El Hadi Belhadj Salah. He expressed confidence in enhancing the position of Arab universities in terms of academic, scientific, and research contributions.
