The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the amendment of some paragraphs of the draft instructions for scientific promotions (167) for the year 2017.

According to the text of the letter addressed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi to the State Council, the amendment includes the following data:

The paragraphs related to the (H-index) are specific to scientific disciplines without humanities, and its value is reduced to (1) for the rank of teacher, (2) for the rank of assistant professor and (4) for the rank of professor.
Adding a provision that allows the Research and Development Department to modify the H-index under regulations issued three years after the effective date of the instructions.
The instructions will come into effect one year after the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
