In the Babylon Festival of Global Cultures and Arts, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Na’im Al-Aboodi, affirmed the efforts to develop international partnerships, exchange experiences, enhance the competitiveness of universities, and improve the quality of education.
During the session held as part of the Babylon Festival of Global Cultures and Arts, he explained that the strategy of international cooperation enabled universities to exchange experiences with their international counterparts and contributed to keeping curricula up-to-date.
He further mentioned that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has succeeded in implementing the Bologna Process in universities and has established an important program to attract international students to study in Iraqi universities. Additionally, it has provided opportunities for training in reputable international universities, through which Iraqi students have benefited from diverse educational environments, enhancing their scientific and academic skills.
He added that the ministry is moving forward on a systematic path to rehabilitate and develop the infrastructure of universities and strengthen their capacity in light of the clear increase in the percentage of enrollments in higher education institutions. Furthermore, it has initiated scientific twinning programs with several international universities in fields related to comprehensive development.
The attendees praised the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the achievements made within the supportive government program for quality requirements that align with global contexts.
Minister Al-Aboodi toured the book exhibition held as part of the Babylon Festival of Global Cultures and Arts and visited an art exhibition showcasing various artistic paintings.
