The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has received official confirmation from the Presidency of the Higher Education Region in the European Union (EHEA) through the UNESCO office in Baghdad regarding the invitation of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Deputy Head of the Follow-up Team for the Bologna Process in the European Union Higher Education Area EHEA, Ms. Anne Catherine Isaacs, confirmed in her message that the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will also participate in the global policy forum for the European Union Higher Education Area with a large number of international partners from inside and outside The European Union, which will be held on the sidelines of the Ministerial Conference of the Bologna Track countries.
And the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, had decided on the twelfth of December 2022 to adopt the (Bologna Process) system in technical universities, starting from the current academic year 2022/2023, and the faculties of engineering and science in all Iraqi universities will start applying the Bologna track for the next academic year 2024. 2023/ While UNESCO described the decision as an important factor in rebuilding and enhancing the quality of higher education in Iraq
