Karbala University achieved the sixth place locally among Iraqi public universities in the 2024 Iraqi University Ranking announced by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The President of the University, Prof. Sabah Wajid Ali, praised the efforts of the staff working at the university for their exceptional efforts to achieve progress and excellence, stressing that this success should be an incentive to continue to reach advanced positions in local and international rankings.

(100) governmental and private organisations were subjected to various evaluation criteria to measure the quality of their performance according to (10) axes, namely Institutional accreditation standards (20%), global rankings (10%), scientific research effectiveness (35%), educational laboratories (5%), scientific and academic reality assessment and compliance rules (5%), faculty members (4%), awards (5%), diversity and international cooperation (10%), student sports club (3%), and occupational health and safety (3%)
