Karbala University begins housing provincial students

The Department of Internal Departments Affairs at Karbala University has started registering students admitted to the university’s colleges from outside the province for the academic year 2024-2025. The Director of the Department of Internal Departments Affairs at the university, Dr Haider Gharib, said, “The department has started the registration procedures for students admitted to the university’s colleges from outside Karbala province, having received so far (700) students, explaining that the capacity of the department reaches (1800) students.” Gharib added that “the department mobilised all its staff to facilitate and speed up the housing procedures and save time and effort for the students.” He added that “the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has introduced a new work mechanism for housing students by adopting an electronic form that includes new regulatory items related to pledges and guarantees.

“The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has introduced a new work mechanism for housing students by adopting an electronic form that includes new regulatory clauses related to pledges and guarantees, pointing out that the student who is unable to bring his guardian during registration must pay a financial security of (250) thousand dinars to be returned to him after the end of the housing period and deduct the value of any damage that the student may cause to the department and its assets. It is noteworthy that the Department of Internal Affairs has previously conducted a renovation campaign to prepare and equip the infrastructure of the department, strengthen safety measures and increase the area of green spaces.
