The University of Karbala launches the first edition of the “Job Fair” with the participation of a group of companies.
The Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Department at the University of Karbala organized the first Job Fair with the participation of a group of companies, government departments, and private institutions operating in the province of Karbala.
The organization of the fair comes as part of the university’s efforts to act as a link between graduates and companies operating in the province to encourage them to work in the private sector and to move away from attempts to wait for government appointments. Additionally, the university seeks to expand the list of registered companies and institutions with official authorities, which can be relied upon for student training during the summer vacation to enhance the practical aspects for its students.
The fair, hosted by the College of Administration and Economics, saw the participation of nearly 30 companies, departments, and institutions operating in Karbala from both the public and private sectors. The participating entities showcased their products and services in the presence of a large number of students and professors.
The university allocated a section of the fair to showcase its students’ projects, where a group of students presented some projects that could be developed to perform various functions according to the needs of companies and institutions.
Dr. Najm Abdul-Hussein Al-Janabi, Assistant to the President of the University for Scientific Affairs, affirmed during his attendance at the fair that “organizing such events will contribute to promoting the idea of working in the private sector and reducing reliance on the government sector.” He pointed out that the scope of work in the private sector is wide, whether at the level of small projects or working for private companies.
According to the organizers, the fair can attract the attention of companies operating in Karbala towards the university’s graduates and their capabilities, which can be invested in to enhance the level of work according to the needs of the labor market and the requirements of the era.
