The Student Activities Department at the university organized a seminar on how to reduce negative phenomena in society and raise awareness of the importance of reporting cases of blackmail in cooperation with the Faculty of Administration and Economics and the Karbala Police Command.

“Teenagers are the most vulnerable to being drawn into deviant behaviors, calling for the need for everyone to take their role in confronting various negative phenomena, especially drugs and cyber extortion,” said Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University.

The university president warned students not to fall into the nets of trolls from blackmailers and promoters of narcotic substances and the need to be cautious and careful of their despicable methods, urging students to report suspicious cases.

The seminar was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Akram Al-Yasiri, a number of college deans, members of the provincial council and security and tribal figures.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Administration and Economics, Dr. Hashim Al-Husseini, said that “the university is constantly seeking to play an active role in preserving society and keeping it away from deviant and extraneous trends, ideas, manifestations and behaviors.”

For his part, the Director of Karbala Crime Control, Brigadier General Alaa Al-Hasnawi, emphasized the need to raise social awareness of the importance of combating extortionists and spread awareness of the need to report any case of extortion to save what can be saved for the victims.
