▪️ Individual reprehensible behavior will not hinder or undermine confidence in the message of the educational institution and its goals, but will rather be a stronger impetus to assume responsibilities and unite positive efforts to enhance the system of noble social and academic values.

▪️ From the very moment of the dissemination of footage depicting behavioral misconduct, we have taken all necessary legal measures, including the possibility of dismissal from public office, realizing that such behavior represents a serious act detrimental to the public interest.

▪️ At the same time, we urge our esteemed society to unite and confront the repercussions emanating from some promoters of publications on social media platforms, avoiding exposing the families of the accused and their personal and professional environments to harmful collective defamation, either due to certain motives or the invention of specific accusations, as spreading obscenity and defamation is no less evil than its perpetrators.

▪️ We renew our confidence in the University of Basra, its scholars, and professors, and affirm that you are capable of protecting society, defending its values, issues, and your prestigious institution, and countering the promoters of vice and obscenity in society.

And I address my message to all our universities:

▪️ I call on the higher university administrations and their esteemed staff, who have always borne the responsibility, to take the initiative and formulate the necessary qualitative awareness, and to craft a cultural movement that believes in the values of society and its deep-rooted traditions in this blessed land.

▪️ We, at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, are committed to protecting the educational institution and establishing its ambitions and programs in achieving its academic mission and scientific goals, and to prosecuting those who harm it under the influence of social media consumption.
