The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naim Al-Aboudi, has announced the imminent laying of the foundation stone for the largest project in the field of scientific laboratories.

This came during his meeting with the Council of Kufa University, where he expressed the commitment of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish scientific laboratories that will take the lead in this field in order to promote scientific research as one of the main pillars of sustainable development that is linked to the development and progress of societies.

He reiterated the importance of making universities cultural and scientific centres of attraction, enhancing their responsibilities towards society and institutional integration with state sectors, while developing training contexts to raise professional capacities and modernise teaching curricula.

The Minister of Education listened to the proposals of the members of the Kufa University Council and the recommendations of the Council on enhancing the specialisations required by community service and attracting international students within the Study in Iraq programme
