The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naim Al-Abboudi, approved the recommendation of a ministerial committee to create a new public university in Wasit Governorate. The Minister of Education, when he received a delegation that included Wasit Governor Dr Mohammed Jamil Al-Mayahi, a number of MPs and members of the Governorate Council and a representative of the Medical Syndicate, confirmed that he approved the recommendations of a higher ministerial committee in mid-July 2024 to identify specialities that serve the development environment in the province and its districts and coordinate with local government for administrative requirements and administrative procedures.
