The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Abboudi, stressed working to provide high-quality education enhanced by technology through partnership and cooperation with major international institutions.

This came in his speech during the smart education event held in cooperation with Huawei, where he expressed the importance of the qualitative event that embodies a partnership and interest between the competent departments in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Huawei, which provided important work in the field of information and communication technology in order to achieve in this space the required cooperation to diagnose and implement what Iraqi students and youth need within the framework of the future of smart education and digital transformation.

He added that the tangible achievements made by higher education institutions in terms of scientific research and the development of educational systems require direct enhancement of training programs to achieve modernization and development responsible for keeping pace with the rapid changes in the digital world, pointing out that it has become necessary to work on establishing the start line towards the digitization of educational environments that include smart classrooms in universities and colleges and modernizing their paths.

He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on this occasion sets a context of understanding that paves the way for the promotion of smart learning media in academic institutions and launches serious steps in the development of a comprehensive and integrated system to nurture talents in the ICT sector.

The smart learning event included a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Huawei’s ICT Academy and talent ecosystem programs, as well as speeches by the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
