Minister of Education directs the creation of a channel to admit memorisers of the Holy Quran to postgraduate studies

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naeem Al-Aboudi, has directed the creation of a new channel for the admission of Holy Quran memorisers in postgraduate studies.

He stressed that the ministry is working to empower its universities with effective roles in the field of the Holy Quran and Quranic studies, calling on the Research and Development Department to organise the mechanisms and controls of testing and competition in the new channel, while urging colleges and specialised departments to employ modern technologies and artificial intelligence in various Quranic studies.

The Minister of Education added that focusing on these contexts is in line with the vision and mission of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, pointing out that this field is the most important tributary of knowledge in which Muslims and non-Muslims have worked and worked in the past and modern times, which requires solidarity in order to spread it and materialise its goals and philosophy.

The celebration of the National Day of the Holy Quran included official speeches, prayers, an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy and honouring a number of Holy Quran reciters and students admitted to the Holy Quran memorisation channel in Iraqi universities
