The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naim Al-Abboudi received an official request from the Italian Ambassador to Baghdad Maurizio Griganti regarding the Italian University project in Iraq.
During the meeting, the Minister of Education listened to a briefing by the Ambassador about the project and its academic specializations that serve the Iraqi environment on the one hand and connect a cultural bridge with the Italian Republic on the other hand.
The Minister of Education stressed his keenness to open prestigious foreign universities in Iraq and to frame scientific cooperation through sustainable partnerships and memorandums of understanding that support twinning programs and joint study and training opportunities.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Maurizio Griganti, explained that the proposed Italian university will be specialized in the fields of engineering, expressing at the same time his country’s readiness to develop scientific and cultural cooperation through quality study programs that are consistent with the indicators of Iraqi universities adopting new and advanced educational paths.
