The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Janet Alberda, and discussed areas of scientific and academic cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

During the meeting, the Minister of Education explained the policy of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in adopting the internationalisation of academic contexts, achieving interaction with influential international institutions and formulating opportunities for twinning scientific projects, pointing out that the Ministry and its institutions succeeded in launching the Study in Iraq programme and managed to attract more than 3,000 international students in various academic disciplines.

For her part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Janet Alberda, expressed the interest of her country’s institutions in coordinating with Iraqi universities, strengthening cooperation channels and memorandums of understanding and providing a suitable environment for joint scientific research, while she extended an official invitation to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Naim Al-Aboudi to visit the Kingdom and its university institutions and frame academic relations between the two countries
