Minister of Higher Education Receives Official Invitation to Visit Hungary, Affirms Academic Cooperation and Global Partnerships.

Dr. Na’im Al-Aboudi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received an official invitation from the Republic of Hungary to visit the capital, Budapest, to enhance scientific and academic cooperation.

This came during his meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to Baghdad, Mr. Attila Tar, where they discussed joint cooperation programs between educational institutions in both countries.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized his keenness to strengthen cooperation with Hungarian higher education institutions, benefit from their experiences, and establish avenues of understanding between Iraqi and Hungarian universities. He also highlighted the exchange of scholarships, mentioning the “Study in Iraq” initiative, managed and supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, aimed at attracting international students to Iraqi universities. He noted that this initiative has created a positive atmosphere for academic and cultural exchange between Iraq and regional and global countries. Additionally, he mentioned the ministry’s readiness to receive applications for the establishment of reputable foreign universities to open branches in Iraq to develop global partnerships and support them.

On his part, the Hungarian Ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to enhance scientific and educational partnerships, frame twinning programs between Iraqi and Hungarian universities, and exchange experiences in scientific and technological fields. He commended the vision and decisions of Minister Na’im Al-Aboudi to internationalize higher education and interact with international experiences.
