In cooperation with the Dutch Wageningen University, the University of Karbala is organizing a course on modern methods of water resources management and rainwater harvesting, today, Thursday, 1/4/2024, at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology in Al-Khwarizmi Hall, presented by Dr. Karrar Mahdi from Wageningen University.
The course aims to learn about modern methods and recent developments in the agricultural and water sector, especially with the increasing impact of climate change on Iraq.
The course included a field visit to the Fadak palm farm belonging to the Hussein Shrine, to gain direct insight into the methods used in water use.
In conclusion, the participants called for the necessity of applying the modern concepts acquired in the course to the agricultural reality through cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Water Resources.
