On the Centennial Anniversary of the Establishment of the College of Education at the University of Baghdad, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Abboudi, affirmed the ongoing development of educational programs in various specializations within the field of education, aiming to enhance their scope and outcomes.
During his speech at the commemorative ceremony for the centennial anniversary of the establishment of the College of Education/Ibn Rushd at the University of Baghdad, attended by several ministers, deputies, advisors, university presidents, deans, faculty members, and students, Dr. Al-Abboudi emphasized that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is committed to aligning the academic programs with the government’s agenda, ministerial curriculum priorities, and the national strategy for education and teaching. This is done to provide necessary support to colleges across various specializations and to allocate resources according to the needs of researchers and students within their respective fields, ultimately leading to academic outcomes that meet societal demands and fulfill the academic education specialties.
The Minister also praised the kind attention and commendable care extended by the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, towards the educational environment in general and towards the distinguished academic institutions, particularly those that have achieved notable indicators, successes, and achievements that contribute significantly to the reputation of Iraqi academia on international platforms. He highlighted their specialized research documented in global repositories, which has secured Iraq’s position as the thirty-seventh globally in university rankings.
The ceremony included official speeches by the Cultural Advisor to the Prime Minister, the President of the University of Baghdad, and the Dean of the College of Education Ibn Rushd, as well as the honoring of several academic figures and representatives of community associations.
