The President of the University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, inaugurated the Sustainable Energy Laboratory in the Department of Cybersecurity at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology. He was received by Prof. Dr. Mowafaq Kazem Al-Hasnawi, Dean of the College, Dr. Mohsen Hassan Hussein, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Muhannad Kamel Abdul-Hameed, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, along with heads of academic departments and a number of faculty members.
The opening ceremony included a detailed presentation on the operation of the solar energy system installed in the laboratory and its applications in powering university devices and laboratories, contributing to the promotion of clean and sustainable energy concepts within the university campus.
The visit also featured interactive discussions in which attendees raised various technical and scientific questions regarding the solar energy project. The project team provided comprehensive answers, emphasizing that this laboratory represents an important step toward achieving environmental sustainability and reducing dependence on traditional energy sources.
