The Iraq-Iran Science Week, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is continuing in the holy city of Karbala with the participation of 100 Iraqi and Iranian universities.
The second day’s activities saw the holding of discussion sessions on various topics related to the exchange of students and professors between the universities of the two countries, scientific development and the most prominent issues and obstacles facing students studying in Iran and ways to address them, as well as the creation of a number of universities.
The second day also witnessed the signing of a set of memorandums of understanding between Iraqi and Iranian universities (100) to promote scientific exchange in various scientific and technological disciplines, organise joint training programmes for students and teachers, exchange academic expertise in scientific research, develop cooperation in the fields of modern technology and innovation, focus on its practical applications, and establish scientific and technical parks in Iraqi universities.
The universities of the two countries agreed to implement research projects, encourage cooperation in the field of joint scientific supervision, modernise curricula and exchange scholarships.
The participating delegations ended the second day with a visit to Dean and Karbala Universities, where they were briefed on the most prominent faculties, departments, scientific capabilities and infrastructure of the two universities.
Participating delegations also toured the exhibition of scientific achievements organised by Karbala University at the Faculty of Education for Human Sciences. The participants were briefed on the various scientific projects included in the exhibition that reflect the range of expertise and scientific capabilities enjoyed by students and professors of the university.
