The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala held a scientific symposium about the mechanism of holding conferences with scientific support from the IEEE Foundation, Thursday, 13/1/2022, under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College.
The symposium was delivered by the representative of the Iraq branch of the IEEE and the teacher at the University of Babylon (Prof. Dr. Sattar Badr Sadkhan).
The symposium included several axes, including the importance of holding scientific conferences in Iraqi universities, with the support of a well-known international institution such as IEEE. It also included the necessary steps and conditions for holding such conferences.
The lecturer explains how to manage, receive and evaluate research and communicate with researchers through the EDAS electronic platform.
On the other hand, the lecturer mentioned the criteria that must be available in the accepted research that is published in the institution’s digital library (IEEE Explore). The library is classified within Scopus’s containers.
At the end of the symposium, questions and discussions were raised. The representative of the Iraq branch of the Foundation (IEEE Explore) answered all the queries raised by those present at the symposium.
The symposium was attended by the Dean, his assistant, heads of departments, members of the scientific committees in the college, and a number of teachers interested in the subject.
