Seventy-eight Iraqi universities in the UI Green Metric ranking

The UI Green Metric ranking of global universities has announced the results of its 2024 edition, in which one thousand four hundred and seventy-seven universities from ninety-five countries around the world competed.

The UI Greenmetric ranking is based on key criteria that measure indicators related to work environment and infrastructure on campus (15%), energy and climate change (21%), waste management (18%), water use (10%), education, academic programmes and research (18%), and transport and mobility on campus (18%).

The official website of the ranking (https://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/rankings/overall-rankings-2024) showed that seventy-eight Iraqi universities obtained positive competitive ranks, where Babel University achieved the 119th ranking globally, followed by Anbar, Future, Middle Euphrates Technical University, Baghdad, Karbala, Basra, Kafeel, Northern Technology, Islamic University, Sumer, Warith al-Anbiya, Mustansiriya and other Iraqi public and private universities.
