The College of Computer Science and Information Technology hosted a celebration in honor of International Women’s Day.

The College of Computer Science and Information Technology, represented by Dr. Mufaq Kazem Al-Hasnawi, the Dean of the College, held a celebration for International Women’s Day on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the main hall of the University’s presidency. The event was attended by Dr. Akram Al-Yasiri, the Administrative Assistant to the President of the University of Karbala, members of the Karbala Governorate Council, a United Nations representative, as well as several deans, faculty members, and staff members of the university.

The celebration included various activities, including a special video presentation for International Women’s Day and recitation of poetic verses honoring and reinforcing the status of women. Dr. Akram Al-Yasiri delivered a speech on this beautiful occasion, emphasizing the role of women in society.

Dr. Mufaq Kazem Al-Hasnawi, the Dean of the College, also delivered a congratulatory speech to the female members of the college, highlighting the pivotal role of women throughout history. He emphasized that nations heavily rely on women’s education due to their significant impact on shaping generations. He further reiterated that Islam has honored women and reinstated their rights and roles in life through Quranic legislation and noble prophetic traditions.

At the end of the ceremony, a selection of distinguished female faculty members and staff members were honored for their outstanding performance in fulfilling their duties.
