The College of Computer Science and Information Technology organized a workshop titled “Supporting Families Against the Menace of Drugs” on Monday, April 22, 2024, in the scientific departments and Laboratory Room 3.

The workshop was conducted by Assistant Lecturer Hussein Saleh Manakhor and Assistant Lecturer Sarah Jabbar Yaqoub.

The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the phenomenon of drugs, elucidate its causes, highlight its consequences, and provide means to protect families from this phenomenon.

The workshop covered several key topics, including:

  • Explaining the phenomenon of drug abuse, its causes, and the Iraqi legislator’s stance on drug-related crimes.
  • Addressing the drug phenomenon through family support.

The workshop recommended the necessity of spreading early awareness campaigns among youth to prevent them from falling victim to this phenomenon. It also emphasized the importance of raising awareness among parents to monitor their children’s use of various internet sites and advocated for the dissemination of awareness campaigns within schools and educational institutions to protect young people.
