The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala has discussed a Master’s thesis entitled “Commercial Advertisement Decision Making Based on Eye Tracking Analysis.” The defense took place at 9:30 AM on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology. The defense was attended by the esteemed Dean, Dr. Muwaffaq Kazim Al-Hasnawi, along with several researchers and faculty members.
The study focused on identifying important areas in advertisements that require attention based on how the advertisement is presented to a group of people. The researcher aimed to determine these important areas by tracking eye movements and identifying attractive spots, allowing advertisers to concentrate on these areas in their advertisements.
The defense committee included:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Ashwaan Anwar Abdul Muna’im from the University of Karbala / College of Computer Science and Information Technology (Chairperson).
- Assistant Professor Dr. Amar Ibrahim Shahab from the University of Baghdad / College of Science (Member).
- Assistant Professor Dr. Heba Jabbar Abdul Wahid from the University of Karbala / College of Computer Science and Information Technology (Member).
- Assistant Professor Dr. Aqeel Abdul Kareem Farhan from the University of Karbala / College of Computer Science and Information Technology (Member and Supervisor).
The defense concluded successfully, and the researcher, Taysir Hazem Abdul Muttalib, was awarded the Master’s degree.
