The Division of Women’s Affairs in the Presidency of Karbala University, represented by the (Linguistic Committee organizing events and competitions), held a scientific seminar on Sunday, 16/2/2025, entitled: “The Central Public Library: Memory, Reality and Prospects”, in which each of the professors lectured: Prof. Dr. Abbas Obaid Al-Amiri from the Faculty of Education for Human Sciences and Mr. Mahmoud Abbas Al-Anbari, Director of the Central Public Library in Karbala, and the seminar was held in the Sayyid Al-Shuhada Hall at the Faculty of Education for Human Sciences.

The seminar dealt with several topics, including: Showing an explanatory video that shed light on the library, its shelves and sections and some talk about its curator and director, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Anbari, then the talk moved to the distinguished lecturers to take us to the world of books, literature, culture and memories that shine eternally while living among books, and explained the importance of the library and books and preserving them is a duty and necessary; because knowledge treasures deserve all our attention, and the talk also rose to the most important achievements and individual efforts that were made throughout the years that Mr. Mahmoud Anbari took care of the library in it and some anecdotes that stayed with him.

The seminar concluded: By opening the door to talk about the most important obstacles and challenges that faced this cultural place that lives in the memory of every authentic researcher, the most important of which are: The financial aspect that hinders the progress of many of the physical aspects of the library as well as the periodic processing of bookbinding and other matters. At the end of the seminar, a certificate of appreciation was handed over by the head of the committee, Prof. Dr. Rafal Hassan Taha Al-Taie, to Mr. Mahmoud Al-Anbari in honor and appreciation for his blessed efforts in managing the public library.
