The Administrative Affairs Department at the University of Karbala recently organized a scientific workshop aimed at explaining the guidelines for academic promotions and understanding the credibility of scientific journals and research repositories.

The workshop included a comprehensive review of the Academic Promotions Guidelines (No. 176) for the year 2017, along with a presentation of the important directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research related to academic promotions.

The presenters delved into the process of selecting reputable journals and publishers before initiating the publication of research to avoid becoming prey to predatory and commercial journals. Additionally, a detailed explanation was provided for the two tables, the first about scientific research, and the second related to activities, approved statements, and other relevant information.
