The two teachers at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at Karbala University, Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Abdul Amir Ahmed and Assistant Lecturer Fadel Abbas Sabah, published a scientific research in Nesq Journal, Volume (42) Issue (9), entitled Quota System and its impact on the parliamentary participation of Iraqi women after 2003.
The research aimed to clarify the quota system and its historical origins, the impact of quotas on women’s parliamentary participation, and the legal issues of this system. The researchers also explained that women’s political participation is extremely important because they represent a large part of society, and their participation is an indicator of the extent of the development of society and the development of the democratic political system, and their membership in the Iraqi Council of Representatives is a positive and major step to exercise their role in the political decision-making process.
