University of Karbala Organizes a Memorial Ceremony for the Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Ali (PBUH)

The Colleges of Computer Science and Information Technology and the College of Islamic Sciences, in collaboration with the University Presidency’s Media Department, organized a memorial ceremony to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUH) on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Jasim Aidan Al-Mamouri, the Administrative Assistant to the University President, Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Taie, the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, his Administrative Assistant Dr. Sadiq Abbas Rahi, as well as Dr. Issam Hamed Abbas, the Administrative Assistant of the College of Computer Science, along with a number of professors and students.

Under the theme “Ali: The Symbol of Humanity”, the event featured a variety of elegies, poetry recitations, and a commemorative symposium titled “Imam Ali (PBUH): A Model of Piety and Righteousness.” The discussion highlighted Imam Ali’s integrity and his unwavering commitment to protecting the wealth and rights of Muslims.

During his speech, Prof. Dr. Jasim Aidan Al-Mamouri emphasized that Imam Ali (PBUH) was the voice of the poor and the oppressed, embodying a unique blend of knowledge, bravery, wisdom, and decisiveness. He played a crucial role in spreading the message of Islam alongside Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

This memorial event served as a reminder of Imam Ali’s profound legacy, inspiring generations with his principles of justice, sacrifice, and compassion.
