The University of Karbala President Represents the Minister of Higher Education at the First International Technical Genius Festival for Patents organized by the Technical Education Authority in the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, in cooperation with Al-Sibtayn University for Medical Sciences under the slogan “Patents Towards Advanced Sustainable Technology.”
The festival aims to create a network of Iraqi and foreign scientists and inventors to present their inventions that contribute to developing services in various economic, industrial, and agricultural fields, and to open avenues for cooperation to produce patents that meet the requirements of the era and the job market.
During his speech, President Al-Saedi mentioned that Iraq has achieved a historic breakthrough in most scientific levels, especially in the medical field, as the National Council for the Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq has obtained international accreditation from the World Federation for Medical Education.
He added that the ministry has adopted a methodology aimed at internationalizing higher education and scientific research, linking its academic programs with global knowledge variables, and opening up to prestigious educational institutions internationally. This vision has materialized in various programs, most notably the “Study in Iraq” initiative, which has attracted hundreds of international students to our universities.
The conference received more than 34 patents in various contents, which will be discussed in the festival sessions over the next two days.
Various Iraqi educational institutions and foreign inventors participated in the festival, making it the first of its kind in Iraq.
