Assistant Professor Dr. Akram Mohsen Al-Yasiri, the Assistant to the President of the University of Karbala for Administrative Affairs, participated in the closing ceremony of the written competition organized by the Scientific Complex at the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine. The competition was part of the Quranic project for university and Iraqi institute students.
During his speech at the closing ceremony of the written competition, Dr. Al-Yasiri emphasized the importance of investing in Quranic teachings in daily life and activating the role of the Quran in enriching the value system.
Al-Yasiri highlighted the importance of the Quran’s role in social upbringing, recalling the Hadith Al-Thaqalayn, which emphasizes the importance of adhering to the Book of Allah and the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.
He pointed out the presence of a general culture in society drawn from the religious culture of the Ahl al-Bayt, calling on all universities to uphold the word of Allah and to give great attention to the Holy Quran, as it plays a role in spreading religious awareness in the Islamic community.
Al-Yasiri praised the efforts made by those responsible for Quranic activities and events at the holy shrines.
The closing ceremony of the written competition was attended by the Assistant to the President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Najm Abdul-Hussein Al-Janabi, the Dean of the College of Management and Economics, Dr. Hashim Al-Husseini, the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Hassan Jameel, and several university professors.
The competition aimed to promote the culture of the Holy Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) among students, including 50 cognitive questions from the Quran, ethics, jurisprudence, and beliefs.
More than ten thousand male and female students from various government and private universities and institutes in Iraq participated in the competition. The closing ceremony honored the winners of the competition from the colleges and institutes.
