The College of Computer Science and Information Technology held a scientific workshop titled “The Risks of Misinformation and the Negative Impacts of Artificial Intelligence” as part of its awareness and educational programs addressing contemporary challenges in the field of technology.

The workshop was presented by Dr. Elaf Adel Abbas and Assistant Lecturer Sara Jabbar Yaqoub. Their academic presentation covered several critical themes related to current technological and societal realities, including: how misinformation originates and spreads via AI platforms, its potential negative consequences on society and information security, as well as the ethical and legal challenges accompanying this rapid technological evolution.

The event drew notable attendance from faculty members and students, who engaged in extensive discussions and posed questions regarding ways to mitigate these risks and promote technological awareness among users.

The workshop aimed to enhance awareness among students and academic staff regarding the responsible use of artificial intelligence, and to underscore the importance of critical analysis of information shared through digital media, especially in light of the growing reliance on such technologies across various fields.
