The Master’s thesis titled “Recommendation system Based on Opinion Mining” was discussed at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presented by the Master’s student (Amina Naheed Abdulameer), the discussion took place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 9:30 AM in the Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, in the presence of the Dean, Dr. Muwafaq Kazim Al-Hasnawi, and several researchers and faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study shed light on improving the performance of recommendation systems by employing textual reviews as additional information to try to alleviate the cold start problem, as well as the sparsity problem, by proposing a recommendation method based on sentiment analysis techniques using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) algorithms, which have made significant contributions to the field of review-based recommendation systems to achieve superior results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researcher concluded that the integration of recommendation systems and sentiment analysis techniques, along with the use of deep learning algorithms in applying sentiment analysis to recommendation systems, has a significant impact on improving the performance of the recommendation system and increasing accuracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Faris Sabar Muftin from the University of Thi Qar, Faculty of Pure Science Education, as the chairman, Assistant Prof. Dr. Noor Diaa Kazim from the University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as a member, Assistant Prof. Dr. Aqeel Abdul Kareem Farhan from the University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as a member, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohsen Hassan Hussein from the University of Karbala, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as a member and supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion concluded successfully, and the researcher Amina Naheed Abdulameer was awarded the Master’s degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
