{"id":8511,"date":"2025-05-01T09:56:19","date_gmt":"2025-05-01T06:56:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csit.uokerbala.edu.iq\/en\/?p=8511"},"modified":"2025-05-04T09:59:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-04T06:59:10","slug":"in-cooperation-with-the-university-of-karbala-the-governorate-launches-the-first-scientific-conference-for-karbala-scholars-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csit.uokerbala.edu.iq\/en\/in-cooperation-with-the-university-of-karbala-the-governorate-launches-the-first-scientific-conference-for-karbala-scholars-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"In Cooperation with the University of Karbala&#8230; The Governorate Launches the First Scientific Conference for Karbala Scholars 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Karbala participated in the events of the <strong>First Scientific Conference for Karbala Scholars 2025<\/strong>, organized by the governorate to find solutions to the challenges and problems facing the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The university played a central role in the conference by forming a scientific committee to evaluate research submitted by scholars, addressing a range of issues the city faces\u2014especially as a major religious tourism destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference identified <strong>four key areas<\/strong> requiring study and innovative solutions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Renewable energy and environmental pollution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public transportation for the millions of pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intellectual property and inventions by local scholars, including university professors, students, and specialists<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The event received more than <strong>240 research papers<\/strong>, of which over <strong>100<\/strong> were accepted after evaluation by the committee formed by the University of Karbala and the governorate, in accordance with strict conference standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference was attended by several university deans, professors, researchers, government officials, department heads in Karbala, and the Head of the Academics Syndicate in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his speech during the event, <strong>University President Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali<\/strong> stated, <em>\u201cThis conference marks an important step toward generalizing this experience. It aims to activate the role of scientists in addressing modern challenges, envisioning the future across various sectors, and offering concrete solutions to real-world issues.\u201d<\/em> He also expressed gratitude for the efforts of the scientific and organizing committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karbala Governor Eng. Nassif Jassem Al-Khattabi<\/strong> highlighted the city\u2019s religious, touristic, historical, and academic significance, adding that <em>\u201cThis conference marks the beginning of a true strategic path for Karbala, one that follows sound scientific frameworks.\u201d<\/em> He confirmed the governorate\u2019s commitment to adopt winning research proposals from university scholars and government employees that offer viable solutions for the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Council Vice President Legal Expert Mahfouz Al-Tamimi<\/strong> noted that all submitted research was compiled into a volume exceeding <strong>350 pages<\/strong>, which will be presented to relevant authorities for implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Mohsen Al-Kanani<\/strong>, Head of the Higher Education Committee in the Karbala Provincial Council, stated that the research tackled real challenges the city still faces despite ongoing development. He praised the efforts of University of Karbala faculty for their significant role in assessing the research quality and relevance, as well as the organizers&#8217; hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference also featured several <strong>research sessions<\/strong> where participants discussed the submitted papers in detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizers announced that the <strong>researchers will be honored next Saturday<\/strong> at <strong>Al-Ukhaidir Palace<\/strong>, a historic landmark in the western desert of Karbala, symbolizing the city&#8217;s ancient heritage and historical stature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Karbala participated in the events of the First Scientific Conference for Karbala Scholars 2025, organized by the governorate to find solutions to the challenges and problems facing the city.
