The Women\u2019s Affairs Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology organized an in-person seminar entitled \u201cWomen and Art: Voice and Identity\u201d<\/em> on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar aimed to shed light on the creative and intellectual role of women in the field of art, and how art serves as a powerful medium for expressing women\u2019s identity and voice in society, as well as a means of conveying human, cultural, and aesthetic values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event included two lectures. The first was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ruaa Abduljawad Lafta<\/strong>, who discussed women\u2019s presence in various artistic fields and their role in highlighting social issues. The second lecture was presented by Senior Director Shaimaa Hadi Al-Hasnawi<\/strong>, who explored the impact of feminist art in strengthening cultural identity and empowering women in the public sphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the conclusion of the seminar, a fruitful discussion took place between the attendees and the speakers, emphasizing the importance of supporting women\u2019s participation in artistic and creative activities as a vital human and cultural dimension that contributes to the development and progress of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
