The University of Karbala hosted the first competition for university students in the art of public speaking and elocution, organized by the Volunteer Development and Advancement Team, sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and in coordination with the university.

The competition, in which more than 20 students participated, was attended by the University’s Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Akram Mohsen Al-Yasiri, and a number of students.

According to the organizers, the competition aims to develop student’s abilities in the field of rhetoric and the art of public speaking, stressing the importance of investing in youth energies and developing them in the service of human societies.

The competition coincides with International Arabic Language Day, which many official institutions and civil society organizations use to commemorate various activities.
